The agency that made the arrest keeps the incident or probable-cause narrative. The sheriff can address local custody and booking. ISP records use the state portal, while Tribal Police is a separate sovereign record channel.
An arrest history is not one county list. It is a chain of agency reports, detention intake, fingerprints submitted to the Idaho Bureau of Criminal Identification, and a court case if charges are filed. No official source published a Benewah historical cutoff, booking archive, or complete mugshot feed. Searchers should ask who created the record before choosing a database.

The sheriff publishes no request form, dedicated records email, fee list, or counter hours. Call first. A useful written request identifies the incident, approximate date, location, agency, record type, desired electronic or paper format, and requester contact details. Include a report or case number when known. Ask for notice before fees exceed a chosen limit and request the legal basis for any withholding.

Under the Idaho Public Records Act, the normal three-working-day period is for a grant, denial, or notice. If more time is properly invoked, notice is given and the ordinary extended period applies. It is not a promise that a large or redacted file arrives in three days.

Benewah Arrest Custody Tools
These tools answer different questions. VINE supports custody-change notifications. iCourt shows a filed public court matter but does not prove present custody. IDOC covers state prisoners and community-supervision clients, not every person ever booked in Benewah County. An IDOC result can show an IDOC number, name, birth year, and a status such as In Custody, In Community, Active Bench Warrant, or Discharged.
The IDOC Resident/Client Search accepts a last name with at least two letters, or a partial IDOC number with at least three digits.
IDOC updates the search daily but warns that status and location can change fast. Confirm operational facts before relying on them.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
No official Benewah County jail roster, booking blotter, recent-arrest page, or mugshot feed was located. No sheriff or local police app supplies an app-only substitute. That verified absence does not mean booking records are unavailable. Call the sheriff for current custody, request booking material in writing, search iCourt for a newly filed case, and use VINE for later custody changes.
Do not substitute a commercial mugshot site. It may be stale, omit context, or retain a booking after charges were dismissed. Likewise, no iCourt match proves current jail status, and no iCourt result may reflect sealed data or a filing delay. A complete recent-arrest check uses more than one custodian.
Benewah Arrest Counts in Context
Idaho's official 2024 county report recorded 129 adult and 20 juvenile Group A arrests for Benewah County. It also recorded 83 adult and one juvenile Group B arrests. Among the Group B categories were 42 adult DUI arrests, seven liquor-law arrests, seven trespass arrests, four nonviolent-family arrests, and one disorderly-conduct arrest. These are administrative arrest counts in the Crime in Idaho system. They are not a list of unique people, and they are not conviction totals.
Reported offenses and cleared offenses use different measures. The same report listed 397 Group A offenses and 251 clearances. “Cleared” is a law-enforcement reporting category, not a court judgment. It would be inaccurate to divide those figures into a conviction rate or to use the county total as proof about a person, street, or neighborhood. The figures help explain local workload, while a named record still must be checked through its agency and court custodians.
No official current jail capacity, annual booking total, or average daily population was found. Those missing measures should not be estimated from offense or arrest tables. The sheriff remains the direct source for a current-custody question.
Benewah Arrest Intake to Court
The arresting agency first creates its incident report. Detention intake can add booking identifiers, fingerprints, and a photograph when applicable. Fingerprints may then feed BCI's statewide repository cycle. A prompt initial appearance creates court and bond entries, and the prosecutor decides which charges to file. The filed complaint can differ from the officer's initial allegations.

A missing BCI incident may reflect a fingerprint card that was never submitted. A missing disposition may reflect later court data that did not reach the repository. For one's own record, use certified court documents when asking BCI to correct an incomplete cycle.
Benewah Arrest Custody After Sentencing
After a state transfer, IDOC replaces the county jail as the custody source. District 1 probation and parole serves Benewah County from Coeur d'Alene. Its public locator can show In Community, but it does not name the supervision officer or disclose private conditions and violation history.

Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest records a law-enforcement action and booking allegations. A conviction follows a guilty plea or verdict and judgment. Acquittal means a not-guilty result. Dismissal ends a charge without conviction, though the earlier arrest entry may remain. Always inspect each charge's final disposition rather than inferring guilt from custody or bond data.
